A 200 metre marine exclusion zone will be in place from Tolaga Bay Wharf for a Matariki fireworks display at Dawn on 15 July 2026 (orginally 10 July but postponed due to bad weather)
A new date, 15 July 2026, has been set for a Fireworks display will be launched from Tolaga Bay Wharf as part of the Matariki Hautapu Ceremony taking place on the beach at dawn. The event is hosted by Te Whare Hauora o Te Aitanga a Hauiti.
A firework safety exclusion zone of 200 metres has been permitted around the wharf structure for the duration of the event.
While the reserved area is being used by the permitted applicant, no other person may enter, remain or use the area for any other purpose. Please refer to the map below.
